Zandvoort Blue G87 M2 on HRE Wheels & Eibach Springs

When BMW unveiled the second-generation G87 M2, its aggressive, blocky styling lines and wide hips polarized the automotive world. However, like many modern M cars, it is a canvas waiting for the right touches to unlock its true visual and dynamic potential. This week at the shop, we had the absolute pleasure of transforming this striking Zandvoort Blue M2 with an execution focused strictly on high-end fitment, balance, and classic styling cues.

The Vision: Premium and Aggressive, Yet Timeless

The owner of this Zandvoort Blue coupe came to us with a very clear directive. They wanted to eliminate the factory-specified wheel gap and widen the car’s road presence without sacrificing the daily drivability of the chassis or steering responsiveness. In a tuning culture that often leans heavily toward blacked-out accents or ultra-aggressive, slammed ride heights, this build took a refreshingly sophisticated approach: pairing a crisp, classic silver multi-spoke wheel finish against the soft, non-metallic pastel blue paintwork.

The Perfect Drop: Eibach Pro-Kit Springs

To address the stance, we opted for an Eibach Pro-Kit lowering spring set. Eibach is world-renowned for its progressive spring rates, engineering suspension components that lower the center of gravity while maintaining excellent ride compliance. For the G87 M2, this kit drops the front and rear just enough to close up that unsightly factory fender gap, leveling out the rake of the car perfectly.

More importantly, it retains full integration with BMW’s factory Electronic Damper Control (EDC). In Comfort mode, the car glides smoothly over road imperfections without the harshness or bouncy characteristics often associated with lesser springs; switch it over to Sport or Sport Plus, and the reduced body roll becomes instantly apparent through technical cornering transitions.

Classic Craftsmanship: HRE Performance Wheels

With the stance sorted, it was time for the pièce de résistance: a set of HRE wheels. Choosing wheels for the G87 is a delicate balancing act due to the car’s highly geometric, sharp-edged fender flares and massive factory brake calipers. The customer selected a magnificent multi-spoke, mesh-inspired design finished in a vibrant, tasteful silver.

The metallic brightness of the silver creates a stunning contrast against the flat pastel hues of the Zandvoort Blue bodywork. The detailed, intricate spokes reach out right to the lip of the barrel, visually maximizing the diameter and accentuating the red M-Performance calipers peeking out from behind. Using an aggressive, flush offset, the wheels line up beautifully with the extended arches, completely eliminating the need for bolt-on wheel spacers.

Modifying a modern M car isn’t about rewriting the script. It’s about highlighting the best elements of BMW’s engineering. This setup offers functional styling at its absolute finest.

The Final Result

The combination of Eibach’s deliberate lowering strategy and HRE’s impeccable wheel design yields an M2 that looks undeniably athletic, incredibly premium, and completely at home whether it’s carving up a mountain road or parked at a high-end marina gathering. It’s a masterclass in clean, “OEM-plus” styling that will undoubtedly turn heads for years to come.
