Automotive Technician (Service & Upgrades)

SoundTrax has been a Long Island staple for 35 years. We started as a specialized automotive service facility and evolved into a full-scale customization and repair facility. From high-end off-road upgrades like winches and lift kits to general mechanical service, we handle everything for both cars and trucks. We are looking for a technician who wants to move beyond standard bay work.

THE ROLE: BEYOND TURNING WRENCHES

If you are tired of the dealership grind and want to work on projects that actually stand out, this is the spot. This job is about more than just swapping parts or fixing radiators. It is about building and maintaining one-of-a-kind vehicles.

We need a tech who has kept up with the times. We are looking for someone who can install a lift kit or power winch in the morning and pivot to complex mechanical diagnostic work in the afternoon.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Bolt-on Upgrades: Professional installation of lift kits, winches, side steps, roof racks, and other performance utility gear. • Modern Diagnostics: Use advanced scan tools and software to troubleshoot and calibrate modern vehicle systems and modules. • General Repair: Perform full-service mechanical repairs including suspension work, brake systems, and engine service. • Wheel & Tire: Operate tire machines to mount and balance custom wheel packages and oversized tires without a scratch.

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Driver’s License: Must have a clean, valid license. • Experience: 2-plus years in automotive or a similar mechanical field. • Technical Skill: Solid proficiency in both mechanical repair and aftermarket customization. • Tools: Must have your own well-stocked toolbox.
